Two Words for the Holidays: Layering and Lace

December is the season for gift giving! Layering pieces - including super trendy lace camisoles - make practical and affordable presents for family and friends.

If there’s one clothing look that’s really hot right now for the cold winter months, it’s layering. You know what we’re talking about: embellished tanks, tees and lace camisoles under womens sweaters, sweaters under jackets and coats, all topped off with a pretty, glittery scarf. Layered looks add dimension and visual interest, keep us nice and cozy, and add up to a truly pulled-together look. A cute sweater by itself is certainly nice, but layer it with an embellished top or lace camisole, add some great accessories, and the fashion meter instantly jumps to “WOW”.



Another great advantage of layering clothing is that you can add or remove items based on indoor (or outdoor) temperatures, or to dress a look up or down - an important option for those days when you have to go straight from the office or picking up kids to a Christmas party or other event.

Layering also allows you to add some modesty to those holiday fashions that might be a bit too daring and bare for your tastes - for example, a neckline that’s too low or a blouse that’s just too sheer. Wear a cute camisole underneath and the problem is solved!

What’s at the top of our “Fashion Fundamentals” list: We’re especially in love with lace clothing of all kinds - particularly sweet-looking lace camisoles that can be used as the starting point for any layered outfit. (Have we mentioned these before??) This season, lace continues to be an ultra-hot fashion trend, and what’s prettier than a bit of romantic lace peeking out from under an outfit? In fact, try pairing a sweater from last season with a new lace camisole or tee to bring it instantly up to date.
